Based on the statistics given by the Iranian regime’s customs, around 38 tons of saffron with a value of $60 million dollars has been exported to other countries in the first five months of the year. The decrease in export is the result of the increase in the production price.
Iran’s dominance of the global saffron market is being threatened by production of artificial greenhouse crops in China, India and the UAE, the state-run INSA news agency had reported earlier.
