NCRI – According to a report by the Revolutionary Guard’s “Fars” news agency on September 17, “Yashar Soltani” the director responsible for Memarinews website has been arrested by the regime’s judiciary. Soltani was the first to report on the assignment of 2200-billion-Toman properties belonging to Tehran municipality.

According to Sadegh Kashani, Soltani’s lawyer, his client is faced with three complaints, one of which belongs to Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Tehran Mayor, suing the website for reporting on the details of the assignment of properties belonging to Tehran municipality to a number of officials and members of the City Council of Tehran with major discounts.

Ghalibaf, regime’s mayor in Tehran, as well as Mehdi Chamran, Chairman of the City Council of Tehran, are two of the main plaintiffs of Memarinews chief editor. The website was blocked due to the complaints of these two.

It should be pointed out that Memarinews had recently revealed that Tehran municipality had given some properties located in Northern Tehran over to a number of municipality’s managers, members of the City Council, a member of Iranian regime’s parliament, a chief of police and a number of officials and oppressive agents of the security forces with 50 percent discount.

A member of the City Council of Tehran had acknowledged that those who have taken the properties are also enjoying low-interest major loans amounting to 400-million Tomans.

On the other hand, Iranian regime’s General Inspection Office issued a statement on Saturday September 3, announcing that the published letter of that office on Tehran Municipality’s violations was only a “confidential question” and not a “final conclusion.”

The statement of regime’s General Inspection Office was related to a report on Memarinews website which included an image of a letter belonging to that office. In the letter, Tehran municipality was accused of “embezzlement and fraud” as well as wasting public property worth 2200 billion Tomans.
