NCRI – Air pollution has hit such high levels in Kermanshah and Kurdistan that residents have been urged to stay indoors to protect their health.
Kurdistan’s Office of Environmental Protection said that a report from June 2 showed the air quality should now be described as ‘dangerous.’
A sand storm in Kermanshah had also reduced visibility to just 1,200 metres, just one tenth of normal standards, Iran’s state-run Fars news agency reported.
Visibility has also been reduced to less than 300 metres in Sarapola Zahab, less than 500 meters in Soomar and less than 2,000 metres in Gilan Gharb, according to reports.
