In Iran, millions living in poverty

NCRI – The poverty line for a family of four in Tehran is set at less than $1,360, according to an official of the Iranian regime.

The state-run Jahan News reported on Sunday that Ali Akbar Eyvazi, an official at the regime’s Labor Ministry, told reporters, “Our analysis indicates that with the five essential commodities and services of health care, food, shelter, transportation and energy, an income of $1,359 in Tehran would be considered below poverty.”

It bears reminding that on this measure an overwhelming majority of the Iranian people are living under the poverty line.

The director of the regime’s statistics center recently revealed that about 47 million people in Iran are living under the line of poverty.
