Tillis: Obama Administration Failing To Protect Camp Liberty Refugees

In a statement signed by 170 Members of the European Parliament representing all political groups in the Parliament, lawmakers condemned the brutal attack of 29 October 2015 on defenceless Iranian dissidents in Camp Liberty in Iraq and called for international protection for these refugees.
This camp is home to over 2000 members of the Iranian opposition PMOI [MEK] which advocates for a free and secular Iran, equality between men and women and abolition of death penalty.
In a joint letter to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a group of 21 members of Iraq’s Council of Representative condemned the increasing facilitation for groups of Iranian regime Ministry of Intelligence agents under the bogus pretext of “Liberty residents’ relatives” going to the camp, and harassing and psychologically torturing the members of the main Iranian opposition movement, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
Over a thousand Iraqi lawyers condemned the latest plot by the Iranian regime’s intelligence ministry (MOIS) and the Governmental Committee tasked to suppress Camp Liberty residents at the Iraqi prime ministry against the residents of Camp Liberty in Iraq.
NCRI - Relatives of members of the Iranian opposition who are under siege in Iraq held a rally outside the Iraqi embassy in Ottawa on Monday.
The protestors condemned the recent plots by agents of the Iranian regime's Intelligence Ministry against the members of the main Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) in Camp Liberty, near Baghdad.
The brutal attack of October 29, 2015 against Camp Liberty in Iraq met international condemnation including by senior U.S., EU and UN officials. This attack by powerful rockets left 24 members of People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) dead and scores wounded and destroyed sections of this camp. The residents in Camp Liberty are all protected persons by the Fourth Geneva Convention and “people of concern” and asylum-seekers for the UNHCR.
In unison with the international community, the National Council of Iraqi Tribes issued a statement on 29 November 2015 strongly condemning this attack that was conducted at the behest of the Iranian regime by its proxies in Iraq against the Iranian opposition. Part of this communiqué by 2100 tribal sheiks from all over Iraq is as follows:
President Obama on has signed the annual U.S. defense policy bill that includes a seven points amendment on the security and protection of members of Iranian opposition, People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) in Camp Liberty, Iraq.
