Videos&Photos: 2 killed 70 Injured in June 15 rocket attack (Updated 16:00 GMT)

AFP: The National Council of Resistance of Iran, issued a statement in Paris sharply criticising the UN for inaction and making “false promises”.

Up to now Camp Liberty residents identified and reported 32 impact points of the 40 missiles fired at the Camp Liberty.

Number of those injured has reached to 50 of which 33 have been transferred to hospital.

Two of the residents, Mrs. Kolthoum Sarahati and Mr. Javad Naghashan, died after the attack.

Since the first missile attack on the camp on February 9, 2013, by writing hundreds of letters and also through meetings and contacts with UN, US and Iraqi officials, the residents and their representatives had urged for provision of minimum security measures at Camp Liberty. Despite promises made by Martin Kobler, none has been provided.

During the missile attack today on Camp Liberty, over 40 of 107mm rockets were fired. Until 15:00 local time, 29 impact locations have been indentified and reported by the residents.

During the criminal attack, two PMOI members were killed and 27 injured.

Mrs Kolthoum Sarahati, one of the two killed, was a political prisoner during the 1980s and had spent one year inside torture chambers of Evin prison in Iran.

Camp Liberty – home to more than 3,000 Iranian dissidents – has been hit by a multiple rocket attack in the midst of the Iranian regime’s sham presidential election,

The attack on the camp near Baghdad airport in Iraq comes four months after the camp was struck by missiles on February 9 – and also after repeated warnings from international bodies that it could be attacked again.

Reports from the camp indicate the latest attack has inflicted many casualties. So far two residents have been slain and 27 others wounded.

PMOI members Asghar Sharifi, Ahmad Sadaf have been criticaly wounded.

Mr. Javad Naghashan, member of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization, who was one of the injured victims of today’s missile attack on Camp Liberty, died in Baghdad Hospital.

So far two people have lost their lives as a result of the attack.

Earlier, Mrs. Kolthoum Sarahati, died during the attack. 27 others have received injuries as a result of today’s missile attack.A great number of bunkers and facilities in Liberty have been severely damaged. One of the bunkers caught fire after it was hit by a rocket and was completely destroyed.

This is the third missile attack on Camp Liberty since February 9, 2013.

UN spokeswoman Eliana Nabaa told AFP: “I can confirm that there was a deadly attack.”

She said: “We don’t have the figures but yes, people were killed and injured.”

Another resident of Camp Liberty was slain in Saturday’s rocket  attack on Camp Liberty.

None of the agents of Martin Kobler in Iraq came to the scene.  Their absence at the time when they have to be present is very suspicious and questionable.  

The agents spend hours roaming in the camp and taking pictures and videos from all areas of the camp on daily basis.

Mrs Kolthom Serahati was slain and a large number of residents were wounded.

Simultaneous with Iranian regime’s election masquerade and its nationwide  boycott by the Iranian people, at 13:15 Baghdad local time Camp Liberty was targeted by many rockets that has resulted in many casualties.  Further information on the attack will be published.

Camp Liberty houses over 3,000 member of Iranian opposition the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq.

During the past four months, following the February 9 missile attack, residents of Camp Liberty and many international organizations and personalities on numerous occasions had demanded that the refugees be returned to Camp Ashraf where  to provide them with minimum security. 

 Following the missile attack on February 9 the camp’s residents for over a hundred times called on the Government of Iraq, the United Nations and the US government to provide their minimum security by returning the T-walls, transferring their hard hats and protective vests which all had been rejected by the Government of Iraq.
