Political prisoners on hunger strike to honor slain Ashraf residents

NCRI – Political prisoners at the western city of Ilam have gone on hunger strike in honor of the seventh day of the deaths of 34 residents at Camp Ashraf.

Camp Ashraf, Iraq, is home to 3,400 Iranian dissidents, who were attacked on April 8 by Iraqi forces. 34 people died as a result and more than 350 were injured.

Political prisoners in Ilam Prison reportedly clashed with one of the torturers named Mohammadi, who tried to intimidate them. But, the hunger strikers were supported by other inmates at Ward 3 and succeeded in pushing back the henchmen’s efforts who wanted to dissuade them from going on hunger strike.
