Political prisoners launch hunger strike in protest related to Ashraf

NCRI – A group of political prisoners in an Iranian prison have launched a hunger strike in response to the Iranian regime’s inhumane beatings and interrogations of the imprisoned relatives of Camp Ashraf and those who protested a recent attack against the camp in Iraq.

This week, political prisoners in Karaj’s Gohardasht Prison wrote a letter condemning Nouri al-Maliki’s massacre and attacks against the residents of Camp Ashraf on April 8, offering condolences to the families of those killed.

According to reports, following the letter, the regime’s prison agents have transferred some political prisoners to solitary confinement, subjecting them to hours of interrogation and beatings.

In protest to such actions, a number of political prisoners in Ward Four of Gohardasht Prison have launched a hunger strike.
