Over 1500 prominent Jordanians condemn attack on Ashraf

NCRI – Over 1,500 Jordanian personalities, including 15 parliamentarians, have strongly condemned the Iraqi government’s attack on Camp Ashraf in April, according to the Kuwaiti daily al-Sayassah.

Dozens of politicians and diplomats joined hundreds of jurists, judges and independent Islamic figures, academic figures and journalists to condemn the attack. They represented a wide range of political views from over 100 political parties and movements.

According to the Kuwaiti daily, in a statement, the Jordanian personalities said, “We express displeasure and condemn the attack on Ashraf using the strongest of terms. The attack dangerously violates international laws and customs and poses a clear challenge to the Fourth Geneva Convention, because the residents of Ashraf are protected persons under that convention.”

About one third of the signatories are women with a wide variety of political views in Jordan.
