Mutlaq calls for a comprehensive solution to the issue of Iranian refugees Ashraf camp

Baghdad –NINA(National Iraqi News Agency) – Deputy Prime Minister Salih al-Mutlaq called for finding a comprehensive solution to the issue of Iranian refugees Ashraf Camp, stressing that Iraq must participate in solving this issue with the international community.

In a statement to NINA Mutlaq said: “The presence of the residents of Ashraf Camp in Iraq is legal and legitimate since its residents considered political refugees covered by the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Mutlaq added: “The forcible transfer of Ashraf residents is contrary to international law, and if it done that would be resulted of external pressures.”

‫ Mutlaq pointed out : “The matter of Ashraf residents became of an international character looking at how political decision-making after the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq”
