Moroccan editor condemns attacks on Camp Ashraf

NCRI – The editor-in-chief of a prominent Moroccan daily has condemned the plots of the Iranian regime against the residents of Camp Ashraf in Iraq.

Abdolnabi al-Sharat, editor-in-chief of al-Watan daily and a member of the Ahl al-Bayt Global Association, said in an interview with the opposition TV channel, Iran National TV, “We all know perfectly well that [the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri] Maliki and his inner circle are being paid by the Iranian people’s taxes.”

“They have placed a siege on the Iranian people’s children in Ashraf. Sadly, they are pursuing the path of Khomeini whose policies were not realized for Iraq.”

Al-Sharat added that the Iranian regime’s embassy is interfering in Iraqi affairs and “issues orders to Maliki, which is an indication of the indignity of this government.”

“All means, including powerful loudspeakers, are being used to directly torture and imprison the residents of Ashraf. They are denied medical care and medicine. This is a shameful and foolish measure that the world has never seen.”

“The United States,” he said, “is fully responsible for Ashraf and must guarantee the rights of Ashraf residents on the basis of international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.”
