Message to the people of Ashraf

Salam Ashraf!

My Parliamentary colleagues and I congratulate you on the return of your 36 brothers to Camp Ashraf following over 70 days of illegal detention.

The bravery of the 36 residents and the hunger strikers in Camp Ashraf and throughout the world have dealt the Iranian regime a severe defeat in its attempts to crush the Iranian people’s democratic ambitions.

As we have seen throughout this year as long as Camp Ashraf remains strong and defiant in the face of the mullahs, so too do the people of Iran. Justice has triumphed over savagery in Iraq, and with this victory a further major stepping stone has been placed towards democracy and freedom for the people of Iran.

We in the British Parliament are proud to stand alongside you every step of the way and together I know we shall succeed. Once again I applaud your determination and bravery. This is the first of many victories to come.

Iran will be free!

Lord Corbett of Castle Vale
Chairman of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom
