Leading Iraqi parliamentarian calls for release of Camp Ashraf hostages

NCRI – Dr. Ahmed al-Alwani, the Chair of Economic Commission in Iraq parliament has said that based on the credible information the seven Iranian dissidents who had been abducted at Cmap Ashraf are being held in Baghdad.

Dr al-Alvani said the government of Nouri al-Maliki’s is planning to kill or extradite them to Iran at the behest of the Iranian regime therefore claims that he has no information on hostages’ whereabouts.

Alwani told al-Hadas news agency on September 25: This is yet another crime that will be added to the list of atrocities committed against human rights in Iraq.

“Killing unarmed people, especially in a barbaric manner, is an insult to all Iraqis and human beings living on Iraqi soil. What is more horrible is that this crime is being committed at the request of Iranian regime.”

Dr. Alwani called for the release of the seven Camp Ashraf hostages.

At the behest of the Iranian regime, the Iraqi forces under the command of Nouri al-Maliki attacked Camp Ashraf on September 1 and killed 52 members of the Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Seven residents including 6 women were taken hostages by the Iraqi forces.
