Jordan MP condemns inhumane measures against Camp Ashraf in IraqNCRI – A Jordanian member of Parliament has condemned the illegal and inhumane measures of the Iraqi forces and elements of the Iranian regime’s intelligence services against the residents of Camp Ashraf.

Camp Ashraf, Iraq, is home to about 3,500 members of the main opposition, People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

The Jordanian lawmaker, Mahmoud al-Kharabsheh, who is also the Chairman of the Arab Delegation for Defending Ashraf, was referring to the pressures and limitations on Ashraf residents by the Iraqi government and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki at the behest of the clerical regime in Iran.

“Ashraf residents are protected persons in accordance with international law and these laws enshrine their right to be protected and live in peace,” al-Kharabsheh said in an interview on Tuesday with the Iraqi News Agency’s Cairo bureau.

“The Iraqi government,” he added, “must be required to respect international law and protect refugees, while refraining from their forcible displacement.”

Al-Kharabsheh also said, “Al-Maliki and gangs affiliated with the Iranian regime currently hold power in Iraq and decisions are made by militias close to them. These militias wear police and military uniforms and carry out their commanders’ orders who are tied to the Iranian regime. They implement the Iranian regime’s agenda in Iraq.
