Camp Ashraf is home to 3,400 members of the main Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
Hossein Jaberi al-Moussavi told the Iraqi news agency on Tuesday, “Some ruling forces in Iraq are trying to fulfill the Iranian regime’s demands. Putting pressures on Camp Ashraf is part of this deal.”
Al-Moussavi added, “We consider Ashraf residents to be Iraq’s brothers and guests. They have been residing in Iraq for many years and have not committed any offenses towards the Iraqi people. On the contrary, they are the respectful and dear brothers of Iraqis.”
