Iraqi politician calls aggression against Camp Ashraf “unacceptable”‎

NCRI – A member of the Iraqiya bloc has said that the aggressions of the Nouri al-Maliki ‎government against the residents of Camp Ashraf are “unacceptable” because the ‎residents of Ashraf are the Iraqi people’s “brothers and guests.”‎

Camp Ashraf is home to 3,400 members of the main Iranian opposition People’s ‎Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).‎

Hossein Jaberi al-Moussavi told the Iraqi news agency on Tuesday, “Some ruling forces in ‎Iraq are trying to fulfill the Iranian regime’s demands. Putting pressures on Camp Ashraf ‎is part of this deal.”‎

Al-Moussavi added, “We consider Ashraf residents to be Iraq’s brothers and guests. They ‎have been residing in Iraq for many years and have not committed any offenses towards ‎the Iraqi people. On the contrary, they are the respectful and dear brothers of Iraqis.”‎
