Iraqi lawyers committee urges end to restrictions against Ashraf

NCRI – The Iraqi lawyers and jurist committee in defence of Camp Ashraf has called for the lifting of the unjust restrictions on medicine and the dismantling of 210 loudspeakers and the “New Iraq Hospital,” which are used as tools for perpetrating psychological torture against the residents.

The statement added, “While the unjust medical siege on Ashraf and prevention of access to medical treatment, doctors and hospitals have entered their third year, leading to irreparable damages to the defenceless and unarmed civilians in the camp, and due to the two-year siege, two residents have lost their lives and dozens of lives are in danger.”

The lawyers committee called on all humanitarian and legal organizations in Iraq, the Arab world and the international community to condemn the psychological torture and the white noise rationalized under whatever pretext. It also called for the dismantling of the loudspeakers.

The committee urged the Iraqi government, the UN special envoy to Iraq and the US embassy in Baghdad to dismantle the means of psychological torture against the residents, including the New Iraq Hospital and the 210 loudspeakers, and to end the unjust medical restrictions.
