In a statement released this week, the movement rebuked the Iraqi government for backing the Iranian regime’s measures against members of the main opposition, People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), in Camp Ashraf.
The statement said, “Instead of solving the Iraqi people’s problems, the government is supporting suspicious individuals with ties to the Iranian regime in setting up factional meetings in various locations against opponents of the Iranian regime, including Camp Ashraf residents, in violation of all values and principles cherished by divine religions and the international community.”
The National Movement of Chaldeans in Iraq also said in its statement, “We do not think those who are aiding foreign intelligence services and those who use their influence to spend the Iraqi people’s wealth for these objectives are fit to govern.”
“We call on the Supreme Judicial Council to review this matter and hold accountable those who are working for foreigners by staging such propaganda against freedom and independence in Iraq,” the movement added.
