Iranians in Canada demand investigation into Camp Ashraf massacre

NCRI – Iranians in Canada have staged protests outside the US consulate and embassy in Toronto and Ottawa to demand a full investigation into the September 1, 2013, massacre of Iranian opposition members at Camp Ashraf by Nouri al-Maliki’s forces at the behest of the Iranian regime.

The protesters called on the US and the United Nations to honor their promise to station blue helmet troops at Camp Liberty to protect the residents who have come under repeated attacks by Iraqi forces.

They also set up an exhibition of photos of the Camp Ashraf victims and paid their respects by laying a wreath on a portrait of the 52 members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) murdered.

Many of the victims were executed while their hands were tied behind their backs, others while receiving treatment in the camp’s medical centre.

The participants also asked the UN and US to take action to free the seven residents taken hostage by the Iraqi forces.

Similar protests were held in various European cities.
