As Iran’s “Supreme Leader”, Ayatollah Khamenei, cracked down on demonstrators in Tehran, repeating his claim that the Nazi Holocaust was a Jewish “lie”, across the border an Iraqi court called again for the release of the 36 hostages taken by Iraqi forces in July after the sacking of Camp Ashraf. This was the home of 3,400 Iranian exiles belonging to the main Iranian opposition group, the PMOI (People’s Mujahideen of Iran), each of whom had been given a written guarantee of their protection by the US government.
