Female political prisoner denied treatment of heart condition

NCRI – Iranian regime officials in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison are preventing the medical treatment of a female political prisoner there, who is suffering from a heart condition, Iran Khabar reported on Thursday.

The physical condition of Ms. Zahra Jabbari is such that she has a difficult time even walking normally, according to reports.

The regime’s agents are callously using her illness as a leverage to pressure and torture her.

Ms. Jabbari was also imprisoned in the 1980s on charges of supporting the main opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

She was last arrested during the 2009 uprisings against the regime and was placed under cruel torture and pressures for having family ties to some residents of Camp Ashraf, where 3,400 PMOI members reside in Iraq.
