End medical restrictions against Ashraf residents, particularly women

ChitsazNCRI – Ms. Sarvnaz Chitsaz, Chair of the NCRI’s Women’s Committee, described prevention of treatment of Ashraf residents, especially female patients, as a violation of Fourth Geneva Convention and the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, and an infringement of all conventions and regulations regarding women’s rights.  She called on all international personalities and organizations advocating human rights and women’s rights to raise their voices against the criminal behavior of Iraqi forces affiliated to Iraq’s Prime Ministry, and to take urgent actions to lift the blockade against Ashraf, particularly in medical affairs.

Referring to obstructions made in transferring Ms. Elham Fardipour, who is suffering from thyroid cancer, to a hospital, Ms. Chitsaz said: A large number of women in Ashraf are suffering from antihuman restrictions in medical affairs that in many cases has led to deterioration of their illnesses leaving irrecoverable effects. She added: Pressures and restrictions imposed on Ashraf has left further and increasing impacts on 1,000 women in Ashraf, especially on those who have spent years in the mullahs’ regime’s prisons and still suffer from brutal tortures during their years of imprisonment.
