Camp Ashraf, 60 km north of Baghdad, is home to about 3,400 members of the main opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
The Egyptian lawyers said, “According to the information we have obtained, a photo exhibition in the city of Khalis and a seminar in Kazemia were organized under the direct supervision of Haj Ali Navidi, the deputy of the Iranian regime’s ambassador in Iraq and with the full cooperation of the office of the Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki.”
The group of Egyptian lawyers added, “All the expenses for these activities are paid out by the Iranian regime’s embassy in Baghdad. The society of Egyptian lawyers demands the cessation of the regime’s intervention and its ambassador’s activities against Ashraf residents, particularly because these residents are subject to the Fourth Geneva Convention.”
