Egyptian Lawyers Assembly in Defense of Camp Ashraf: Assist us in dispatching a medical aid convoy to Ashraf

NCRI – Egyptian Lawyers Assembly in Defense of Camp Ashraf issued a statement and called on the International Red Cross, Amnesty International, UN Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), and all international human rights organizations to make it possible to send an aid convoy to Camp Ashraf.

The statement said: “Nouri al-Maliki, the Prime Minister of New Iraq continues his war crimes against the wounded victims of his ignoble attack of April 8, and with utmost cruelty and by trampling upon all international human rights laws and conventions, is preventing medical aid teams to enter Camp Ashraf to attend to the wounded.

“Yes, this is gross violation of the most basic human laws and conventions in Mr. al-Maliki’s “Government of Law” in the 21st century! Due to such continued anti-human crimes, the lives of 11 more of the wounded are in serious danger.

“Egyptian Lawyers Assembly in Defense of Camp Ashraf which is affiliated with international and Arab organizations that are following the legal and human conditions at Camp Ashraf is planning to dispatch a medical and treatment convoy to Camp Ashraf, including food and medicine containers, in order to save the lives of those wounded at Ashraf. In this regard, we ask the UN Secretary General, the International Red Cross, Amnesty International, Mr. Ad Melkert, Representative of the UN Secretary General in Iraq, and all the international and human rights organizations to pressure al-Maliki’s government and assist us in this humane effort.”
