Dhafer al-Ani: Attempting to expel PMOI from Iraq would reward the Iranian regime

NCRI – In an interview with al-Baghdadieh TV on Saturday, Dr. Dhafer al-Ani, Chairman of the Accordance Front in the Iraqi Parliament, said that while the Iranian regime advances its agenda for dominating Iraq, the Iraqi government is attempting to expel the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) from Iraq as if to reward the regime for its recurring meddling.

Dr. al-Ani asked the US to strongly support Iraq against the Iranian regime’s meddling on the basis of international agreement and in order to protect Iraq’s territorial integrity.

He also said that if Iran were not confronted by the international community, it would heighten its show of force in the region. He said the ties of some Iraqi political groups to Tehran has increased Tehran’s appetite to swallow Iraq whole and grab its wealth.
