NCRI – The following is the text of speech by Mr. Jan Zahradil, leader of Czech delegation in the EPP-ED group of the European Parliament, in the plenary session on 24 April 2009 which adopted the resolution titled “Humanitarian Situation of Camp Ashraf Residents.” by 284 against 42:
“All I want to say is that I was happy that it was under the Czech Republic presidency of the European Union that the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) was removed from the EU’s list of terrorist organizations.
“And I am glad that we continue to protect the Iranian opposition against the Iranian government through this resolution on Camp Ashraf.
“I would like to thank all those from all political groups who have contributed to this resolution.
“I hope that the resolution would be adopted in the original version without any amendments.”
