Statement by the Arab Women Lawyers Committee in defense of 1,000 Ashrafi women:
We, the attorneys for 1,000 women residing at Camp Ashraf declare that continuing the blockade of Camp Ashraf residents and the perpetrated atrocities against them are crimes against humanity.
Considering Camp Ashraf residents’ unbefitting human conditions, crimes perpetrated against them, and the blockade imposed on them for the last two years, we announce that we plan to dispatch an aid caravan, including medicine, medical supplies, and physicians to Camp Ashraf, and we ask the Iraqi government to facilitate this humanitarian action.
We also call on all international institutions and assemblies to stand by Ashraf residents.
