Retired employees of the Telecommunications Company of Iran (TCI) across several major cities in Iran staged protests today, April 22, demanding higher pensions and other essential needs. The demonstrations were held in Tehran, Arak, Tabriz, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Marivan, and Ardabil.

Tehran

In the capital city, Tehran, TCI retirees held a weekly protest rally, echoing the calls for improved pension conditions and other basic necessities. Despite persistent demands, the government’s response has continued to fall short, prompting retirees to voice their grievances publicly.

Arak, Markazi Province

In Arak, retirees staged a rally in front of the provincial TCI office, demanding the implementation of laws requiring the government to adjust their pensions in line with the cost of living.

Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province

Retirees in Tabriz joined the nationwide demonstrations, emphasizing their right to adequate pensions and basic needs.

Kermanshah, Kermanshah Province

Similar protests took place in Kermanshah, where retirees gathered in front of the local TCI offices, reiterating their calls for improved pension conditions and other basic necessities.

Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province

In Sanandaj, retirees gathered in protest, chanting slogans condemning the government’s neglect of their demands. Slogans against local officials as well as the regime’s Minister of Labor echoed through the streets as retirees voiced their grievances.

Marivan, Kurdistan Province

In Marivan, retirees also voiced their frustrations in front of the provincial TCI office, demanding the implementation of a law passed in 2010 concerning their pensions.

Ardebil, Ardebil Province

Retirees in Ardabil resumed their protests, urging the authorities to heed their demands for higher pensions according to the law.

These protests reflect the ongoing dissatisfaction among retirees of the Telecommunications Company of Iran regarding their pension conditions. Despite repeated demonstrations and calls for action, the government’s response has remained inadequate, leaving retirees feeling neglected and marginalized.
