Iran News: Floods Devastate North Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan Provinces

Severe floods hit the North Khorasan and Khorasan Razavi provinces in northeastern Iran on Friday, causing widespread damage and leaving several people missing. The heavy rainfall, which led to the flooding, caught many residents by surprise, especially considering the high temperatures prevailing in most parts of the country.

In Chamanaran, hundreds of vehicles were trapped by the sudden deluge. Villages such as Marshak and Kardeh near Mashhad experienced significant damage to vehicles. The flooding in North Khorasan caused the closure of the Bojnourd to Raz and Jargalan road, and many homes and roads in Sarhad, Qushkhaneh, and Titkanlu of Shirvan were inundated.

The regime’s Red Crescent director in Khorasan Razavi reported that one person went missing near the Dolatabad Dam in Chamanaran, where several vehicles were also caught in the floodwaters. Additionally, several nature enthusiasts went missing in the Shamakhal Valley in Dargaz due to severe rainfall.

The provincial disaster management director in Khorasan Razavi confirmed that five vehicles were caught in the floodwaters in Marshak and Kardeh villages. These areas suffered heavy damage, and the floods led to the closure of the Bojnourd to Raz and Jargalan road, exacerbating the disruption in the region.

Residents have criticized the regime’s neglect of essential infrastructure, blaming systemic mismanagement for the recurring flood damage. The unexpected summer rainfall in parts of Fars Province and the northern strip of the country, including Mashhad, further compounded the challenges faced by the affected communities.

This incident highlights the urgent need for improved infrastructure and disaster preparedness in Iran to mitigate the impact of such natural disasters in the future. The search for the missing individuals continues as the affected regions begin the arduous task of recovery and rebuilding.

Systemic mismanagement by the Iranian regime has long been a source of frustration for the citizens. Instead of investing in critical infrastructure to prevent such disasters, the regime has prioritized regional adventurism, ballistic missile development, and nuclear advancements. This misallocation of resources has left the country vulnerable to natural calamities, neglecting the fundamental needs and safety of its people.
