Iran News: Extensive Flood Devastation in 23 Provinces amid Regime Inaction

Iran is reeling from a catastrophic flood crisis as torrential rains continue to wreak havoc across the nation. According to local and state media reports, 23 provinces are grappling with extensive flooding, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

The affected provinces include East and West Azerbaijan, Alborz, Isfahan, Ilam, Bushehr, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, South Khorasan, Semnan, Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, Khuzestan, Fars, Kurdistan, Kerman, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Lorestan, Markazi, Hormozgan, Hamedan, and Yazd.

Unfortunately, in the floods of Marvdasht, four children lost their lives. The state-run website “Sharq” reported, “Unprecedented flooding and inundation in Marvdasht have claimed the lives of four children.” Intense rainfall, flooding of roads, and the flow of floods trapped four individuals in Marvdasht, leading to their tragic demise.

Despite mounting calls for urgent action, the Raisi government’s response has been woefully inadequate. Reports indicate a disturbing trend of inaction and incompetence, with authorities failing to provide timely assistance to affected areas. In Tehran, a laborer remains missing three days after being swept away by the floods, underscoring the grim reality faced by many across the nation.

The state news agency ISNA, under the headline “Possibility of Floods in Tehran,” wrote, “From late Monday to late Tuesday, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, wind gusts, especially in the northern half of the province, severe to very severe wind gusts, and dust storms, especially in the southern half of the province, are predicted.”

According to state media, around 400 villages have been affected by the ongoing floods in South Khorasan, with 219 of them belonging to the Khaaf district.

Intense rainfall in Kermanshah province resulted in flooding and inundation in Thaleth Babajani, Mahidasht, Hamil in Eslamabad Gharb, Dalahoo, Javanroud, and Sar Firouzabad.

A citizen cried, “Look at the depth of the tragedy. When will you come to our aid? Look… anyone who can help, please help us. Our homes are gone, our lives are shattered. Help us!”

Another man lamented, “The village of Davoudi in Kermanshah has inflicted damages on several residential units. Their belongings are submerged in water, their livestock have suffered, and their agricultural fields, are full of sheep’s hay… Several sheep have been swept away…”

Despite the widespread devastation and losses caused by floods, the plunderous regime of the clerics has refrained from taking even the slightest action to cope with the debris and devastation of its floods. The situation remains dire as citizens grapple with the aftermath of the floods while awaiting substantial aid and support from the authorities.
