Iran coronavirus outbreak: Political prisoners in critical conditions

According to reports by Iranian human rights activists, some of the protesters arrested during the November nationwide uprisings are kept among ordinary prisoners infected with coronavirus in halls 6, 7 and 9 of Karaj Central prison.

Some prisoners in hall 6 have contracted coronavirus and one of them has even died in this hall. Nine other arrested protesters are kept in hall 7 of Karaj Prison.

Also many prisoners in Zahedan Prison have contracted coronavirus and some of them are hospitalized in a critical situation in Bu Ali Sina and Khatam hospitals.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Wednesday, March 11, 2020, marks the 118th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
