As a result of Khamenei’s criminal and plundering policies, Coronavirus death toll has exceeded 400,000

Maryam Rajavi:

The main cause of the astronomical dimensions of the COVID-19 victims is the clerical regime’s criminal and plundering policies

The regime’s policies on Coronavirus are undoubtedly a crime against humanity. Therefore, the leaders of this regime, especially Khamenei, Raisi, Rouhani, and Namaki, must be brought to justice.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Thursday, September 2, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 547 cities across Iran had exceeded 400,900. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 94,146, Khorasan Razavi 30,135, Isfahan 26,430, Khuzestan 24,651, Mazandaran 15,540, East Azerbaijan 14,358, Fars 14,312, West Azerbaijan 14,083, Lorestan 13,880, Gilan 13,830, Sistan and Baluchestan 11,835, Alborz 11,688, Qom 11,175, Kerman 10,388, Hormozgan 6,950, Yazd 6,893, Semnan 5,810, Ardabil 4,980.

In fear of the exposure of the dimensions of COVID-19 deaths, Ebrahim Raisi, the regime’s president, said today, “Spreading information about the various aspects of the Coronavirus disease and related issues should be organized with the aim of creating maximum hope and refraining from creating fear and anxiety in the people … We should not publicize topics that naturally flow in the specialized field of various sciences, including medical science, and cause anxiety and fear among the people.”

According to the state-run daily, Aftabe-Yazd, Mohammad Sharifi-Moghaddam, secretary-general of the Nurses’ House said, today, “The consequences of the unwise policies and poor vaccination has impacted the nurses. In the Health Ministry’s system, prevention is not considered important, and most of the health care budget is spent on medicine and the treatment of patients. The reason is that some profit from people becoming ill. The shortage of nurses is not only limited to the ICU. There is a shortage of nurses at all levels.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said that with the most conservative estimates, the Coronavirus death toll has exceeded 400,000, the largest per capita death toll anywhere in the world. Mrs. Rajavi expressed her condolences to the general public, especially the victims’ relatives, and wished the patients a speedy recovery.

From the beginning, the Iranian resistance had stated that Khamenei is pursuing the policy of mass casualties in a bid to confront the uprisings that would lead to the regime’s downfall. Khamenei’s criminal order to ban the purchase of vaccines was issued in that context.

Mrs. Rajavi pointed out: The lives and health of the Iranian people are of no value to Khamenei; he only thinks of preserving the disgraceful rule of Velayat-e-Faqih. Prohibiting the import of vaccines, failing to cover the bare minimums for the laborers, and forcing them to go to work to make ends meet, the nonpayment of the salaries of the medical staff are part of the regime’s misconduct in this regard. The regime’s policies on dealing with the Coronavirus are undoubtedly categorized as crimes against humanity. The leaders of this regime, especially Khamenei, the current president and his predecessor, Ebrahim Raisi and Hassan Rouhani, and Saeed Namaki, the former Health Minister, must therefore be brought to justice.
