Mullahs’ regime tries to evade censure by linking PMOI to criminal explosion near al-Kadhim Shrine

NCRI – At a time when the terrorist and fundamentalist meddling of the religious fascism ruling Iran in Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon has been met with widespread and unprecedented condemnation by the international community, regional governments and the people of the Middle East, the regime's notorious Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) is attempting to cover up its inhumane role in the criminal explosion on Sunday near the Imam Moussa al-Kadhim shrine in Baghdad by blaming it on the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI).

The government-run news agency Fars in its English text claimed: "The terrorist members of the anti-Iran Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization are deployed in a camp in Diyala, and some observers believe that the attack might have been designed or backed up by the MKO terrorists." (Fars, January 5, 2009)

Dozens of innocent residents and pilgrims were killed and many more injured in a criminal explosion near the Imam Moussa al-Kadhim shrine in Baghdad on Sunday. The PMOI immediately condemned this terrorist act and expressed its condolences with the relatives of the victims.

The MOIS is linking the PMOI to this crime at a time when the mullahs' regime is the main cause of murder and bloodletting in Iraq. It is trying vehemently to extent its domination over the entire country. This regime is simultaneously involved in crimes against Shiites and Sunnis in Iraq.

Committing atrocities on holy Shiite shrines and blaming them on the PMOI has been a common practice by the mullahs' regime in the past three decades.

Execution of religious Shiite and Sunni leaders opposed to the mullahs' influence in Iraq, sending explosives to Saudi Arabia during the Hajj pilgrimage in 1986, massacre of innocent pilgrims near Mecca in 1987, bombing of Imam Reza's holy shrine in 1994, demolition of Sunni mosques in the southeastern city of Zahedan as well as other places throughout Iran, destroying the Dervishes' mosque in the holy city of Qom and brutal murder of Christian leaders are just a fraction of crimes committed by the ruling clerics against religious figures and holy sites.

The mullahs do not hesitate to engage in any criminal act to prolong their rule in Iran.
