Khamenei’s absurd offer of amnesty in fear of reflections of region’s uprisings and Iranian people’s explosive state

NCRI – In the midst of internal feud, explosive state of the society, and international impasse, in an absurd maneuver, Khamenei resorted to “forgiving and remitting prison sentences”. Most terrified of Qadhafi’s demise, the prospect of Syrian dictator’s downfall and the destruction of his regional front, and the explosive wrath of people, Khamenei is miserably attempting to ease the antagonism within the government. In particular, Khamenei is concerned of enraged people who may use the sham parliamentary elections of early 2012 to give a new dimension to their uprising against the dreadful regime of Velayat-e faqih.

In his sermon on the occasion of Eid Fitr on Wednesday, August 31, pointing to the uprisings of 2009, Khamenei said: “Election is a challenge; be careful this challenge does not damage country’s security. Elections should shore up our security. One should not allow this thing that works for our security and backs our security to damage our security. You saw, you felt, you felt up close, how it is when enemies want to abuse the elections against country’s security. Everyone should be watchful, everyone should be conscious… we need to be very careful; be aware of what we are doing. If there is feud, hatred, malice and disharmony between ourselves… we will not be able to rise to the responsibilities that face us today. This is an important guidance; it is an utter necessity.”

However, the state of the decadent regime of Velayat-e faqih is so frail that even in his bogus maneuver, Khamenei dared not free from prison or house arrest former officials of the regime who had enjoyed Khomeini and Khamenei’s approval and who are truly defenders of Velayat-e faqih regime. Khamenei, a hundred-fold more detested in Iran than Qadhafi in Libya or the Asad of Syria, has just learned one lesson from the uprisings in the region: escalate repression. These very days have been witness to widespread arrests throughout the country, in particular in Tabriz, Urumiyah and other parts of Azerbaijan Province.

Khamenei, who spoke about most Arab states during his Eid Fitr sermon, dared not even mention Syria. Khamenei, who until a few days ago backed Qadhafi by linking Libyan people’s uprising to U.S. and Israel, today questioned the Libyan National Transitional Council saying: “These are the same people who until a while ago sat down and drank with oppressors of the Libyan people. Today, they have come to take advantage of the situation.”
