Iran: Mullahs resort to bullying, threats to thwart a firm policy

NCRI – During today’s Tehran Friday congregation, former President and Expediency Council Chair Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said, “If Iran’s nuclear dossier continues to move forward as we have seen so far, everyone will lose. Of course, the damage inflicted on the people in the region resulting from the instability caused by such behavior would be catastrophic. It would also inflict damage on the world.”

Rafsanjani was reacting to the United Nations Security Council’s Presidential Statement and trying to bully the international community.

Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami, the Revolutionary Guards’ Air Force commander, claimed this morning, “A new generation of missiles capable of hitting multiple targets at once” has been developed and tested.  He added, “the missile can avoid radar detection and intercept anti-missile rockets.  With a variable range, it has no range limit.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Maj. Gen. Rahim Safavi, IRGC’s Commander in Chief, had threatened, “If Iran is not secure, there will be no security for the rest of the countries in the region.  The security of the Persian Gulf and Iran are interconnected… they must know that their forces in Iraq and in the Persian Gulf region are vulnerable.”

The mullahs’ regime has resorted to these threats and bullying to prevent the international community and specifically the United Nations Security Council from taking a firm stand so that it could buy time to acquire nuclear weapons.

At the same time, by staging such ludicrous theatrics and hollow show of force, the mullahs are also trying to boost the morale of their demoralized forces in the confrontation with the international community and the growing wave of popular protests and uprisings.

The experience, especially of the past three years, has shown that the only way to deal with the theocratic dictatorship ruling Iran is to adopt a firm policy. To this end, the Iranian Resistance calls on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to swiftly impose comprehensive sanction against the Iranian regime and recognize the right of the Iranian people to resist against the tyrants ruling Iran. This is necessary to prevent the disastrous consequence of the terrorist mullahs acquiring nuclear bombs.
