According to eyewitnesses, Messrs. Hossein Pouyan and Mohammad-Ali Zahedi, two kidnapped members of the PMOI, were first taken to the Interior Ministry. They were taken out through the Ministry’s back entrance shortly thereafter.

The same witnesses said that between 1:00 and 1:15 pm Thursday, August 4, 2005, two cars, including a Chevrolet that belonged to the Interior Ministry’s forces, entered the Ministry’s premises through the main gate. Mr. Pouyan was in the first car and Mr. Zahedi in the second. His glasses had been broken when he resisted the kidnappers.

The hostages were first taken to the Ministry’s fourth floor and shortly thereafter taken through the Ministry’s back entrance with two white SUVs with tinted colored windshields.

In reiterating the responsibility of the Interior Ministry in this respect, the National Council of Resistance of Iran demands the immediate release of the two abducted PMOI members. Considering that the two hostages were protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention, the NCRI also calls for decisive action by the Multinational Force to secure their release.
