Interpol ratifies arrest warrants for Iranian regime officials

NCRI – Interpol said Friday it was not lifting arrest warrants for Iranian regime’s officials for their involvement in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, despite claims by Tehran’s steps to co-operate.

Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman read from a letter announcing the international police organization’s decision at a press conference.

The letter went on to assure that the existing red notices, arrest warrants, issued by Interpol on the six Iranian regime officials for being involved in the attack will remain active and not be lifted.

He noted that an agreement between Argentina and Iran to set up a truth commission over the bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires did not mean the arrest warrants would be lifted.

Following years of investigations, the Interpol, in November 2007, issued Red Notices for former Intelligence Minister, Ali Fallahian; former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Mohsen Rezai, the current Minister of Defence and former commander of the Qods force of the IRGC, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi; Mohsen Rabbani, former cultural attaché in the regime’s embassy in Argentina; and Ahmad Reza Asghari, third secretary in the regime’s embassy in Argentina.
