Welcoming increased sanctions against the Iranian regime specially the Central Bank; Call for oil embargo

• Sanctions are necessary but the final solution to nuclear drive is the overthrow of the religious fascism ruling Iran

NCRI – The Iranian resistance welcomes the signing into law of the increased sanctions bill including against the mullahs’ regime Central Bank by the US President and considers it a necessary step to counter this regime’s efforts to obtain nuclear weapon and flagrant human rights violations in Iran. By a complete oil embargo against this regime, the most important source for financing mullahs’ regime drive for nuclear bomb, suppression, weapons of mass destruction and support for international terrorism must be cut.

Sanctions against this regime are necessary but are not a response to nuclear bomb. The only way to ensure international peace and security is the overthrow of this regime and to have a democratic non-nuclear Iran.

According to the bill signed Saturday night, December 31, 2011, by the US President, the US government can punish foreign financial institutions who deal with the Iran’s Central Bank. A significant portion of oil revenue is channeled through the Central Bank. The Bank plays an important role to facilitate the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ (IRGC) access to international currencies. The National Council of Resistance of Iran had revealed the Central Bank’s role in circumventing international sanctions specially in recent years, in a Press conference in Brussels in July 22, 2010.
