Rajavi: Khamenei clears the way for an unimpeded drive toward nuclear weapons, export of terrorism

Maryam Rajavi: By purging their rivals Khamenei and Ahmadinejad's factions cleared the way for an unimpeded drive toward obtaining nuclear weapons and export of terrorism and fundamentalism

NCRI – The mullahs' Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei admitted on Wednesday to the rigging in the upcoming elections and said, "Voters should elect candidates to the Majlis (parliament) who would pave the way for the loyal and energetic government to charge ahead."

"Those opposing to the people's participation in the elections are trying to cast doubts in the voters' minds. I tell you with great confidence that previous elections were fair and so will be the upcoming election on Friday," said he in response to the protesting rival factions over their candidates' widespread disqualifications ahead of Friday's polls.

Khamenei disapproved of past parliaments' track record on "various issues such as nuclear issue."

"People must elect their candidates with clear wisdom. Those obligated to Imam [referring to Khomeini] and the Islamic principles should be elected to Majlis. The voters must elect individuals who clearly distance themselves from the enemies."

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance said that Khamenei showed no mercy by disqualifying all candidates of rival factions prior to the elections. The regime's supreme leader is keen to remove all internal obstacles in his "non-stop" move to obtain nuclear weapons, devour Iraq as well as exporting terrorism and fundamentalism abroad. Khamenei in his drive to purge the next parliament from his adversaries does not stop at supporters of former presidents Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mohammad Khatamei. It would even include some of his own supporters among the current members of the Majlis.

She added that the hidden message of the upcoming elections on one hand will be an increase of suppression at home and expansion of projects such as export of terrorism and fundamentalism abroad as well as obtaining nuclear bomb. On the other hand it is an end to internal purges which would intensify the mullahs' regime isolation; something which would inevitability makes it more vulnerable.

At the same time, the regime's Minister of Intelligence and Security, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeii threatened key figures of rival factions with legal action for having interviewed with what he called "foreign radios" and speaking to "foreign embassies."
