Call on UN Security Council to impose comprehensive sanctions on Iran

NCRI – While all signs indicate that the Iranian regime has intensified its activities to acquire nuclear bomb, holding negotiations on its nuclear programs will not bear any fruit but buy time for it. Time for the regime is the only element needed to complete its nuclear programs.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the United Nations Security Council to impose immediate and comprehensive arms, oil, technological and diplomatic sanctions against the regime as the first essential and important step to prevent the regime from acquiring nuclear bomb. Any delay in imposing sanctions would only bring the regime closer to a nuclear bomb.

Last week’s revelations of a number of Iranian regime’s secret nuclear sites which are used for uranium enrichment activities or development of nuclear warheads and other parts for production of nuclear weapons demonstrate that the policy of holding dialogues with the regime and giving concessions to it has been a mistake. However, such a policy would be more erroneous than ever before as millions of Iranians are calling for change of the regime in their nationwide uprisings. Such a policy not only encourages more suppression, torture and execution by the mullahs’ regime in Iran but also endangers peace and stability in the region.
