Iran: Mullahs’ nuclear projects have no purpose but development of a nuclear bomb

Iran: Mullahs' nuclear projects have no purpose but development of a nuclear bombNCRI – Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said on October 2 in an interview with the state-run news agency ISNA, "Our position on nuclear energy is quite clear. President Ahmadinejad stated clearly that we will never stop uranium enrichment."

Ahmadinejad’s insistence in recent days on the regime’s determination to continue with its uranium enrichment project is clearly indicative of the mullahs’ real intention which is to build an atomic bomb.

Documents revealed including Khomeini’s letter dated July 16, 1988 which was published on Saturday by then deputy commander of Iran’s armed forces Ali-Akbar Rafsanjani entitled "Reasons for which the ceasefire in the Iran-Iraq war was accepted by Imam Khomeini" are a testament to this fact. The letter clearly calls for "atomic and laser" weapons as items included in then Revolutionary Guards Corps’ commander Mohsen Rezaii’s order list of requirements to continue the war with Iraq. The reiteration of the need for "atomic and laser" weapons which was deleted from subsequent published copies of the same letter reveals the true nature of the mullahs’ intention to acquire an atomic bomb.

On August 2002, when the Iranian Resistance revealed for the first time the regime’s secret nuclear project in Arak and Natanz, it said that in his tenure as president Rafsanjani has reiterated that "acquiring atomic weapons is the best guarantee for our survival. We can then be sure that Western countries would not be able to prevent the Islamic revolution from expanding."

The Iranian Resistance once again warns against the danger of the appeasement policy and not taking a decisive stance against the mullahs’ regime, and calls for the adoption of serious measures and the imposition of comprehensive sanctions against the mullahs’ illegitimate regime.
