Iran: Ahmadinejad’s remarks, enrichment resumption, amount to declaring war on world – Rajavi

Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian ResistanceThese developments underline the need to refer Tehran’s nuclear file to the UN Security Council

The mullahs’ president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said in a joint session yesterday of the cabinet and parliament, “The Islamic Republic has delivered a letter to IAEA Secretary-General Mohamed ElBaradei today and officially announced the start of nuclear research” activities. The clerical regime “will not lose sight” of “our main aim” which he described as enrichment “on Iranian soil.”
Reacting to the growing international concern with the regime’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons, sponsorship of terrorism, and export of Islamic fundamentalism, Ahmadinejad boasted, “Be angry with us all you want and die in your anger.” Describing the evil religious dictatorship in Iran “the awakened Islamic power,” he demagogically said that this power “strikes like a whip at the waist of the world order of domination and will soon overthrow it.”
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, stressed that these remarks prove the veracity of the Iranian Resistance’s position that the appointment of a terrorist Revolutionary Guards commander as president of the religious fascism ruling Iran was a declaration of war by the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, against the Iranian people and the international community.
Mrs. Rajavi added that the faltering regime had taken recourse in stepping up suppression and executions in Iran, exporting of terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism to the region, in particular to Iraq, as well as obtaining nuclear weapons, as the only way out of irremediable crises engulfing it.
She emphasized that continuation of the theocratic regime’s nuclear projects in direct violation of its international obligations and in breach of the November 2004 Paris Agreement, calls for the severance of all negotiations with the regime and the immediate referral of Tehran’s file to the UN Security Council.
