NCRI – Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance described the demagogic theatrics of the Iranian regime in gathering a number of its proxies and hirelings under the “International Session in Support of the Palestinian Intifada”, and the remarks of the regime’s Supreme Leader as vain efforts to hinder President Mahmoud Abbas’s plan to form an independent Palestinian statehood.
“The formation of such a state is an effective blow to the influence of Islamic fundamentalism and the terrorism arising from it, and a giant step towards dislodging the religious fascism ruling Iran from regional countries”, said Mrs. Rajavi.
“The vengeful attack of Khamenei at the Palestinian Liberation Organization – which is the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people – illustrates the deep-seated enmity of this regime with the Palestinian ideal, which today has resulted in hostility towards an independent Palestinian statehood, an issue that is approved by most countries in the world, and independent poles show that almost all of the Palestinian people, even in the Gaza strip, support”, Maryam Rajavi emphasized.
“The Liberation Organization’s rift delivered a blow to the Palestine issue and continues to do so today,” Khamenei said in his speech. “They, like a number of traitorous Arabic governments, have turned their backs to the ideal of resistance which was and is Palestine’s only savior.” He rejected the arbitration of the “UN and other international organizations” under the pretext of being “fellow perpetrators of the arrogant governments”. In a flagrant terrorist and bellicosity threat, Khamenei said “Iran’s missiles and resistance groups will rise to their duties whenever a threat is felt from the enemy.”
Mrs. Rajavi reiterated that Khamenei’s remarks reveal this regime’s utter fear from the prospect of peace and democracy, and the fact that regional popular uprisings have seriously cornered his regime.
