Maryam Rajavi sympathizes with people of Mazandaran Province urges all Iranians to independently rush to help people in flooded areas

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian resistance, offered her condolences for the loss of many defenseless compatriots due to flooding in Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) and while sympathizing with people of Behshahr, Sari, Neka, and Galougah, urged public to help people affected by the flooding.

Mrs. Rajavi called on the Iranian people, especially people in the neighbouring provinces of Mazandaran to independently help flood-affected families and take custody of children who have lost their homes and families. As like in the recent earthquake in Azerbaijan, there were the noble and brave young people who rushed to help despite the prohibitions and persecution of the inhuman regime.

Maryam Rajavi blamed Khamenei and his accomplices for the loss of lives and vulnerability of the people against natural disasters and said: “The predatory clerical regime, by wasting of the Iranian nation’s major assets for anti-national plans such as missile and nuclear programs, skyrocketing cost of suppression and terror machine, and criminal intervention in Syria and Iraq, has left the Iranian people defenseless against such natural disasters.”

Due to flooding in the province, at least 14 people of our fellow compatriots have lost their lives in Behshahr and Sari. Most of the bodies of the victims have not yet been found.

The mullahs’ regime prevents the publication of the real number of casualties and devastation of flood damage in Mazandaran. The clerical regime’s Behshahr governor put the initial estimate of general damages, excluding destroyed homes, to 30 billion tomans (approx. $10M)
