NCRI – On the anniversary of death of Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the clerical regime in Iran, Ali Khamenei, the regime’s Supreme Leader, displayed his fear of the widespread social discontent and internal, regional and international campaigns by the Iranian Resistance against his regime’s terrorism and fundamentalism. As it is a customary practice, the regime attributed them all to the United States.
Ali Khamenei remarks comes three days after the execution of political prisoner Gholamreza Khossravi of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), that raised public rage and abhorrence inside Iran.
The Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader said: PMOI “today participate in various meetings held by U.S. Congressional committees. These seditionist elements that here killed people, killed dignitaries, killed senior clerics, killed scientists, killed politicians and made the explosions, they are there with them today.”
Khamenei underscored the challenges and the internal and external crises that imperil the regime in Iran. He expressed his concern for social upheavals and the people taking to the streets, as well as the deepening of rifts at the highest levels of his regime.
He said, “Another means is to foment rifts at the highest levels of governance. This is one other thing they do. They try to create schism and rift at the top of a system that is not with them. They attempt to create discord in governance.”
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, described today’s statements by Khamenei as vivid fear of the PMOI (MEK) and the Iranian Resistance as the main existential threat to the religious dictatorship.
She noted: “The spite and resentment of this bloodthirsty mullah regarding the disclosure of the nuclear weapons project by the Iranian Resistance, turning the spotlight on the violation of human rights in Iran, and prompting Iranian people and the people of this region of the world against fundamentalism and religious fascism is quite understandable and bespeaks of mullahs reaching their end.”
Rajavi added: “Khamenei’s statements today is the other side of the coin of the massacre at Camp Ashraf, the rocket attacks agianst Camp Liberty, the repeated requests by regime’s senior officials for the extradition of PMOI (MEK) members in Camp Liberty, and the cruel execution of Mr Gholamreza Khossravi for his loyalty to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.”
