The Iranian Resistance strongly condemns the dictated and wicked death sentence of Dr. Tariq al- Hashemi, the Vice President of Iraq and one of the most prominent nationalistic leaders of Iraq. The ruling was dictated by the religious fascism ruling Iran to its puppet government in Iraq.
Dr. Hashemi has always maintained the most steadfast position against the Iranian regime’s domination on Iraq and suppression of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in Ashraf and trampling their rights. That is why he is facing Khamenei and his retinue’s wrath.
Khamenei had previously thanked Nouri al-Maliki for four favors he had rendered to the Velayat-e-Faqih regime ruling Iran. The four were: The US forces leaving Iraq, suppressing the PMOI and expelling them from Iraq, suppressing Iraqi nationalist leaders particularly Dr. Hashemi, and supporting the Syrian dictator, Bashar Assad.
The Iranian Resistance calls on international community to confront the growing trend of suppression, crime, extra-judicial executions in Iraq and to strongly condemn the death sentence of Iraq’s Vice President. The Iraqi rulers have executed dozens of political prisoners without any fair trial in recent days. The death sentence for Dr. Tariq al-Hashemi is issued on the day that Baghdad and scores of Iraqi cities are scenes of bombings. The clerical regime has been the main culprit in these bombings. The Iranian Resistance had previously exposed that Maliki, who is fully cognizant of the role of the Iranian regime in Baghdad explosions, in a directive has asked the relevant organs to keep silent about the Iranian regime’s role.
