Defiant youth targeted centers of repression and plunder, also centers for spreading terrorism and extremism to voice outrage at the execution of the Iranian wrestling champion Navid Afkari and Mostafa Salehi, detained during the December 2017-January 2018 uprising, and at the death sentences of other uprising prisoners and their torture.
These activities included setting fire to the entrances to the centers for the repressive Basij and IRGC, centers of plunder affiliated with Khamenei’s offices, the entrances of training and spreading extremism and terrorism, as well as torching photos and banners of Khamenei in Tehran, Shiraz (Navid Afkari’s hometown), Isfahan, Khorramabad, Eslamshahr, Eyvanekey (Semnan), Shahr-e-Rey, Sanandaj, Pakdasht, Yazd, Joveyn (Khorasan Razavi) and Lahijan. These activities took place while the repressive clerical forces were on full alert. The activities of the defiant youth have played a significant role in breaking the atmosphere of terror that the mullahs seek to instill in society.
