Iran: Clashes in Najaf Abad and Sanandaj on Fire Festival

People in different cities across Iran, face to face with the mullahs’ regime and despite its repressive threats, celebrated the Fire Festival.

In the city of Najaf Abad (Isfahan province), a heavy clash broke out between people in the Amirabad district and State Security Forces and intelligence agents. Repressive forces used pepper spray, batons and electric shock in the clash.

In Sanandaj, the presence of scores of repressive forces in most areas of the city who controlled the people, in some parts led to clashes with people.

In Ahwaz ands Shoush, a large number of youths riding motorcycles began throwing firecrackers and hand grenades. Police subsequently attempted to collect motorcycles in the city of Ahwaz and Shoush. In Danial district in Shoush, mercenaries hit a young motorcyclist with their car in his pursuit, injuring him and sending him to hospital. In Kianpars district of Ahwaz the security forces are on alert.

At 17:00 h in Mehrshahr in Karaj security forces went to different districts and began arresting the young people in order to get their commitment not to take part in fire festival. The mercenaries have threatened the youths that they were not allowed to leave their homes, otherwise they would be arrested.

In Shiraz, they beat people out of Persepolis. They are not even allowed to take photos.

In Kerman, the regime officials closed off the roads to prevent fire festival celebrations.
