Demonstrations in Tehran, Ahwaz and Mashad with chants of “Death to dictator”

Sample ImageNCRI – On Friday July 9 around 15:30 local time, on the anniversary of the student uprising, a group of people and brave students staged a demonstration under the Seyed Khandan bridge with chants of "Death to dictator". They confronted the State Security Forces (SSF) and pushed them back from under the bridge.

At the same time, in Enqelab Square, a number of people and youths demonstrated chanting "Death to dictator". The demonstrators were dispersed by the State Security Forces and their motorcyclist gangs.

In Vali Asr Square confrontation broke out between people and suppressive forces. The people came to the support of three women who the regime's agents intended to arrest and made the agents flee the scene. Subsequently motorcyclist gangs roamed around Vali Asr Square and prevented the gathering of the people.

In Ahwaz, Jondi Shapour University students staged a demonstration in the University and Pourandokht streets with chants of "Death to dictator" and confronted security and intelligence agents around noon. In these clashes several students were wounded.

In Mashhad, hundreds of people and students staged demonstrations in Ferdowsi University campus, in front of Kowsar street, chanting, "Student will die but will not give in to humiliation" and "free all political prisoner.” Special Guard agents attacked the demonstrators and the people defended themselves by throwing soda bottles at the agents. The suppressive forces entered the university campus when their number was increased.
