Criminal and Secret Execution of Ali Saber, Political Prisoner and Supporter of the MEK in Lakan Prison, Rasht

NCRI

NCRI logoAccording to news received from the families of prisoners in Lakan Prison in Rasht, the criminal agents of Khamenei secretly executed Ali Saber Motlaq, 62, a longtime supporter of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and one of the political prisoners of the 1980s who was re-arrested in 2020.

The regime’s judiciary accused him of having punished a senior regime official in Rasht in 1981, an accusation that Ali never accepted. Ali Saber, 62, went on a hunger strike for a month in March 2021. He was suffering from severe kidney and liver disease.

Earlier, the NCRI’s Security and Counterterrorism Committee revealed the name of Geda Ali Saber Motlaq, who was listed in a “highly confidential” list of political prisoners registered as “special” prisoners in the regime’s judiciary, in April 2022. Ali’s name was listed in row 2084 of the list of 2,273 political and ideological prisoners.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council, the International Fact-Finding Commission, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, as well as Amnesty International and other human rights organizations to investigate the news of the execution and how Ali Saber was martyred and the place of his burial. It also calls for urgent action to stop the regime of the mullahs’ killing machine and to save the lives of prisoners, especially political prisoners. Silence and inaction in the face of the world’s leading executioner, torturer, terrorist, and warmonger, encourages this regime to continue and intensify its crimes against humanity.
