Clerical regime’s show on February 11 in commemoration of anti-monarchial revolution turned widely boycotted by people

NCRI – Despite the Iranian regime had mobilized all its suppressive and governmental organs, the ceremony in commemoration of the anti-monarchial revolution on February 11 (Bahman 22nd) held by the regime was boycotted by the majority of Tehran residents turning its hateful show and stage-setting into a failure. Even the attempts of regime’s propaganda machine by montages of clippings of this show and those of previous years failed to cover this failure.

The religious fascism ruling Iran, which in fear of popular uprisings was in dire need of a saber rattling, dispatched its agents from various cities to Tehran and allocated 4500 buses from Tehran’s bus company to transfer the governmental employees and students to this show; however most of the buses had no passengers. The bulk of today’s participants were from the the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), the Basij force, and thugs brought from regions and cities around Tehran. Many, who had been coerced to participate, left midway to the show. Just from twenty-three Basij regions under the command of IRGC’s Mohammad Corp, 184 battalions were dispatched to the demonstration. In addition, herds of security and intelligence forces were sent to the scene.

In secret reports of today’s demonstration within the Iranian regime’s circles, this demonstration has been referred to as “the least attended demonstration commemorating Bahman 22nd”. The report describes most of the participants as men of “military and security” forces.

In this show by a bankrupt regime, Ahmadinejad emphasized on regime’s ominous nuclear projects and ludicrously bragged about sending a man to space prior to 2022. In demagoguery, he attempted to cover up the miserable and critical state of the regime by depicting the uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia as Islamic. Such attempts have raised abhorrence of the people, the religious leaders, and the political groups in Egypt.
